What we do

Girl Child Mentorship
The girl child is unarguably the carrier of an entire generation. Young teenage girls grow to become mothers of nations. The strategic role of women in the affairs of human activities has made it imperative for us to formulate a deliberate approach to arrest the mind of young teenage girls and groom them into productive women.

We take care to build a society that works by building up a woman. WRN works to mentor teenage girls, restructure the mind of young adults and build up the psyche of women as important components of society. This platform gives room for leadership training for women who will in-turn train others and thereby creating an echo-chamber to amplify the capacities and values of women.

Grassroots Women Empowerment
WRN grooms self-reliant grassroots women from within local communities. This is solely to promote the welfare and economic opportunities of women community residents, groups and leaders. The activities of this mandate is the bedrock for short term investments to achieving long term empowerment in communities.

Our belief is that women at all levels should matter, be present and active in discussions that shape, decide and direct activities and policies at local, national and global levels. This is because women especially at the grassroots are usually the principal actors in cases of mass mobilization and socio-economic activities.

When we grow self-reliant grassroots women to need little or no intervention from outsiders, their overall livelihood increases and the demands on forces outside of their control is greatly reduced. A directed approach to empower women at the grassroots level both in urban and rural areas is sure to enhance a productive society.

Women Rights Advocacy
Women Rights Advocacy is one of the core mandates for WRN with the strong desire to address issues of women’s rights abuse. WRN advocates for issues on gender equity through various measures including activism.

We support advocacies, women activists and activities that are diplomatic `and effective to demand responses from policy makers and stakeholders based on their constitutional and other rights. We
are a watch-dog to protect the rights of women from abuse by social groups, caste groups and religious groups that systematically suppress women to multiple forms of oppressions in the name of tradition, culture and religion.

Women Economic Development
WRN promotes financially self-sufficient women through economic development. We provide direct socio-economic empowerment to address specific needs of women such as skills acquisition, income generation, job creation and other diverse means. Based on the economic needs of particular groups, we design and implement projects that benefit women from underserved or unserved communities.

We provide access to micro-financing, grants, loans and other opportunities to improve the standard of living for women and truly transform the status of women in communities across Africa, especially in rural areas where women have long been excluded from family financial management systems.
